The SEL-3390T Universal Time Card is a PCIe card designed to provide complete time management for a computer, such as the SEL-3355 Computer. The SEL-3390T allows the user to manually select from IRIG-B, the Precision Time Protocol (PTP), and host time sources.

Time Management and Protocol Conversion—Provide complete time management for a computer, such as the SEL-3355 or the SEL-3555 Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC). The SEL-3390T is a PCIe card that sources time from either IRIG-B or IEEE 1588 PTP and can be used to distribute time to downstream devices using IRIG-B or the Network Time Protocol (NTP), if NTP is installed and operating on the computer. The SEL-3390T can provide IRIG-B to the SEL-3390S8 PCIe x1 Serial Expansion Card and in turn to downstream serial-connected devices.

High-Accuracy Holdover Time—Maintain high-accuracy time for local and downstream devices in the event that the SEL-3390T loses all time sources. In such an event, the card will switch to holdover mode, during which it operates off of its internal TCXO oscillator and maintains an accuracy of 36 µs per day at a constant temperature.

Network Interface—Expand networking with two fully functional 10/100/1000 Mb Ethernet interfaces available to the host. Choices of RJ45 (copper) and fiber-optic connections are available. Fiber-optic ports are enabled using SEL-provided small form-factor pluggable (SFP) modules, with the choice of multimode or single-mode fiber.
