The SEL-2411 Programmable Automation Controller offers an affordable control and monitoring solution for power and industrial automation systems. Fully customizable and designed to withstand harsh physical and electrical environments, the SEL-2411 is built and tested to meet mission-critical IEEE and IEC protective relay standards. With flexible communications and I/O options, the SEL-2411 allows you to easily integrate with SCADA and meets your sequential events reporting, station integration, remote monitoring, ac metering, and plant control system needs. As always, the SEL-2411 is protected by SEL's no-questions-asked, worldwide, ten-year product warranty.
Trip Coil Monitoring—Assess the heath of a circuit breaker by capturing trip coil performance in real time. Record trip coil dynamics, including current, voltage, and temperature during operations, to plan preventative maintenance.
Station Control—Control plant variables and processes locally or remotely with powerful logic, flexible I/O, and deterministic communications.
Automatic Transfer Scheme—Sense voltage loss on the normal source and transfer the load to a standby source with Mirrored Bits communications over metallic or fiber-optic cable.
Local Control and System Applications—Send analog and digital input data to a central communications system, and receive and execute control commands. Deploy SELect I/O options suitable for your application needs, including digital or analog outputs, RTD, ac currents, and ac voltage inputs.
Isolation for Adverse Conditions—Protect equipment with fast analog alarms that execute every quarter cycle to detect overvoltage and undervoltage.
Transformer Monitoring and System Control—Detect transformer alarms, and monitor and control fan operation based on temperature. Send warnings to remote monitoring systems, and take protective action.
Time-Critical Applications—Optimize applications using time-deterministic, high-speed processing. Use control equations with logic, arithmetic, analog comparison, edge-trigger, and timer functions for automatic local control and to convert individual data values into actionable system information.
2 × 16 character LCD provides navigation, control, data, and diagnostics via default messages or customizable display messages.
Optional horizontal chassis available.
Simple front-panel navigation provides operator access to settings and operational data.
Programmable front-panel LEDs with user-configurable labels alert operators to conditions.
Programmable operator pushbuttons with user-configurable labels allow front-panel customization.
Standard I/O includes three digital outputs and two digital inputs.
Wide variety of protocols and media options allow communication with other devices and control systems.
Optional fiber-optic serial port provides quick and easy access.
Ten RTD inputs card option increases I/O.
Four available slots for SELect I/O cards expand application options.
Three ac current/3-phase ac voltage inputs option.
Four ac current inputs option.
View the real, reactive, and apparent power of each phase in your system, and monitor the power factor information to determine if the phase current leads or lags the phase voltage.
Select from predefined bay screens, or configure as many as five custom bay screens using the acSELerator Bay Screen Builder SEL-5036 Software and acSELerator QuickSet SEL-5030 Software. You can monitor one breaker, control and monitor four two-position disconnects, and view analog and digital data in a contextual display.
To control a breaker or disconnect, simply tap the Bay Screens application on the home screen and then the breaker or disconnect you want to control.
Flexible I/O for Local Control and System Applications
The base unit includes three digital outputs and two digital inputs. There are four card slots for optional SELect I/O cards, including the following:
Convenient Customizable Controls
Four programmable pushbuttons are provided on the front panel. Print labels for six front-panel LEDs to show channel activity, device status, critical I/O status, or the results of logic calculations. Label four pushbuttons and associated LEDs to simplify operator interaction.
Communications and Integration
EIA-232 ports are standard features while an 10/100BASE-T Ethernet port, fiber serial port, and EIA-232/EIA-485 serial port are optional. Standard Ethernet protocols include Telnet, FTP, and Modbus TCP, and optional protocols include DNP3 LAN/WAN and IEC 61850. Standard serial protocols include SEL ASCII, Compressed ASCII, SEL Mirrored Bits communications, and Modbus RTU, and optional protocols include DNP3 Level 2.
Local Control With SELogic Control Equations
Easily program with powerful math and logic. Use control equations with logic, arithmetic, analog comparison, edge-trigger, and timer functions for automatic local control and to combine data into system information. Time-deterministic, high-speed processing is ideal for time-critical applications.
High Reliability and Rugged Design
Apply in harsh substation environments; the SEL-2411 withstands vibration, electrical surges, fast transients, and extreme temperatures. Compare our superior specification compliance, higher reliability, lower cost, and ten-year, worldwide warranty. For even harsher environments, order conformal coating for the printed circuit boards to provide an additional barrier to harsh environments and airborne contaminants, such as hydrogen sulfide, chlorine, salt, and moisture.
