You can update settings either through a secure web interface or acSELerator QuickSet SEL-5030 Software. Using the configuration file makes backups and restoration easy.
Flexible, Modular Design—Upgrade existing sites with 4 Gigabit Ethernet copper ports and 16 10/100 Mbps copper Ethernet ports, built as 4-port modules. Each of the 10/100 Mbps copper port modules can be ordered with single- or multimode fiber-optic ports to meet your network's unique requirements. In addition, you can add up to 4 fiber-optic or Copper Gigabit Ethernet ports via small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceivers for a total of 24 ports.
Secure Network Management—Increase security with the SNMPv3 and HTTPS features on the SEL-2730M. SNMPv3 provides secure network management and is interoperable with existing network management systems (NMS). An HTTPS web interface provides secure and intuitive switch management. Map configurable system and security events to the alarm contact for alarming through an external system, such as an existing SCADA network.
Network Integrity Protection—Use a Bridge Port Data Unit (BPDU) guard in the SEL-2730M to prevent unauthorized network extensions. Provide central authentication with the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) or one- or two-factor authentication with Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS). Protect client saturation with rate limiting.
Network Topology Configuration—Use any of the available 4,094 VLANs for switch-to-switch connections with the SEL-2730M. Monitor VLAN configurations with easy-to-read graphics. Monitor the status through Syslog and the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).

Easy to Use and Administer
The SEL-2730M is easy to install and configure. The autonegotiation function for 1000BASE-X fiber ports enables the switch to easily autoconnect to third-party devices in the network. The web management interface has been engineered to emphasize ease of use for common tasks, such as setting up priority communications using VLANs. Any selection of ports can be mirrored for integration with an Intrusion Detection System (IDS). Settings can be configured online through the secure web interface or offline for later uploading to the switch. Access to the HTTPS web interface can be managed centrally via LDAP or RADIUS.
Flexible, Modular Design
The base-model SEL-2730M has 4 Gigabit Ethernet copper ports and 16 10/100 Mbps copper Ethernet ports, built as 4-port modules. These modules can be ordered as 4 single-mode fiber-optic ports, 4 multimode fiber-optic ports, or 2 copper and 2 multimode fiber-optic ports (Ports 17–20 only). In addition, up to 4 fiber-optic or copper Gigabit Ethernet ports can be added via SFP transceivers for a total of 24 ports.
Comprehensive security features, such as SNMPv3, HTTPS, and MAC security, ensure that only authorized users and devices have access to the network.
BPDU Guard prevents spurious BPDU packets from affecting the network. Port rate limiting helps prevent broadcast, multicast, or unicast Ethernet storms from disrupting network operations.
