Introducing the SEL-787L Line Current Differential Relay

Date held: Wednesday, July 17, 2024 · 11:00 a.m. (Pacific Time)
Duration: 1 hour

This webinar introduces the versatile SEL-787L Line Current Differential Relay and its applications. Built on the foundation of the successful and widely used SEL-700 series relays, the SEL-787L provides protection in a variety of two-terminal applications.

We’ll cover its key features, capabilities, and applications, including:

  • Differential protection for overhead lines, underground cables, and inverter-based resource (IBR) tie lines.
  • Phase, ground, and negative-sequence current differential elements and their performance in the SEL-787L.
  • Line current differential protection components that enable the relay to operate securely against CT saturation and communications-related impairments.
  • Application of the SEL-787L on communications links that use direct point-to-point fiber or multiplexers for line current differential communications.
  • Additional features, such as an LCD touchscreen, low-energy analog (LEA) sensor inputs, arc-flash protection, high-impedance fault detection, and advanced directional elements.

Attendees will receive 1 Professional Development Hour (PDH) for this webinar. To receive the PDH, attendees must attend at least 75 percent of the live webinar. Partial credit or adjusted PDHs will not be awarded.
