As distributed generation continues to grow, there is increasing need for a distributed energy resource (DER) management toolset that meets the requirements of both utilities and DER site owners.
The utility may need to treat multiple DER assets—photovoltaic (PV) arrays, a battery energy storage system (BESS), or reciprocating generators, for instance—as a single generation source. Behind the meter, DER site operators may need a control or visualization interface with the utility power system, in addition to controlling their own generation assets.
In this recorded webinar, Senior Automation Engineer Brian Waldron shows how the SEL Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC) platform and its Grid Connect library provide visualization, local control, and protocol conversion that meet the requirements of modern DER installations.
