Improving Operational Efficiency With Modern Automation Technologies

Overview

This presentation will discuss applications for modern automation technology in power system information and device management. We will discuss efficient means to extract data from a variety of substation equipment and how to use that data to lower operational costs and improve control strategies.

You can expect to learn about:

  • The new technologies in power system automation and how these technologies will impact applications in the years to come.
  • How to use substation data to lower organizational costs associated with NERC compliance and improve overall situational awareness.
  • Managing distributed energy resources (generation and storage) coordinated with load in a variety of power system topologies with real-world examples.
