The SEL-CRD is used for fault location on overhead power distribution systems. It is powered by load current and indicates a faulted line condition by showing a large red reflective target display. The SEL-CRD automatically resets upon restoration of load current that meets the minimum load requirement.
SEL-CRDs can be installed with a single hot stick, have a 1 ms response time, and significantly reduce fault-finding times. The UV-stabilized polycarbonate housing, vinyl-coated core, and stainless steel spring make the SEL-CRD suitable for application in harsh outdoor conditions.
