Introducing the SEL-2411TM Temperature Monitor Digital Data Logger for COVID-19 vaccine storage

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is announcing the immediate release of the SEL-2411TM Temperature Monitor Digital Data Logger, designed specifically for use in the cold chain storage of COVID-19 vaccines.

The SEL-2411TM works in tandem with any commercial refrigerator, freezer or ultra-cold freezer (UCF) as a primary or secondary system to monitor temperatures at an accuracy of ±1°C, record temperature data at configurable points in time and immediately alert of a detected temperature variance.

The CDC-compliant device adheres to federal COVID-19 vaccine response recommendations and meets specifications and testing requirements for the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard E2877 Tolerance Class G or higher with a certificate of calibration from testing performed with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable reference standards.

“A local hospital asked if we could help them solve their temperature-monitoring challenge,” said Edmund O. Schweitzer, III, SEL president, founder and chief technology officer. “Our SEL-2411 product line is perfectly suited for the application, so our engineers developed a custom application, which is now in service — all in under two weeks! We’re proud to be of service.”
