SEL Completes Purchase of New Post Falls Manufacturing Site
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) today announced details about the location and size of its new manufacturing facility in Post Falls, Idaho.SEL has completed the purchase of the recently constructed 240,000-square-foot facility located at 150 N. Beck Road in Post Falls. The facility will support electronic device manufacturing operations and is expected to employ approximately 250 employee-owners when operations begin, with additional positions planned as production increases. The 100% employee-owned company invents, designs and builds equipment and technology that protects, monitors, and controls critical infrastructure, including electric power systems around the world. The facility was selected because of its proximity to existing SEL locations in Spokane Valley and Pullman, Washington, and Moscow and Lewiston, Idaho, as well as access to a strong regional workforce. The investment builds on a longstanding Inland Northwest presence, where SEL employs more than 5,000 people.“We are pleased to officially include this facility in our manufacturing operations,” said Dave Whitehead, president of SEL. “This investment strengthens our ability to serve customers around the world while creating more high-quality manufacturing careers in the region and supporting the continued growth of our U.S. manufacturing operations.”SEL expects operations to begin in mid-2027. Hiring will begin in spring 2027.The Post Falls facility is one of several recent manufacturing investments by SEL. Together with new and expanding facilities in Moscow and Nampa, Idaho, the project reflects a long-term commitment to increasing manufacturing capacity to support growing demand for products used by electric utilities, industrial facilities, and other critical infrastructure operators. For information about career opportunities, visit selinc.com/careers.
