SEL webinar shows how to solve distribution protection challenges

With advanced recloser controls, distribution protection engineers can solve challenges that have historically been considered acceptable anomalies. By addressing these challenges, utilities can improve grid performance and predictability.
In a new webinar, SEL distribution protection experts analyze common protection challenges, such as fast curve operations due to inrush, coordination of multiple time-overcurrent devices with limited time-coordination space, feeder relay operation caused by conductor slap, and re-energization of faults in noncommunicating loop-restoration schemes. They provide solutions that address the root causes of these protection challenges to improve grid performance. The solutions use advanced recloser control features, such as voltage detection, timers, and programmable recloser logic, to redirect the actions of the recloser.
The webinar will stream live on July 25, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. PDT. Register to attend the webinar on the SEL website. A recording will be available at the same location 24 hours after the live event.
