Arc-Flash Detection–Install arc-flash detection cables to SEL-751, SEL-751A, SEL-851 and SEL-710-5 Relays to protect people and equipment from arc-flash events.

Point Sensors–Protect enclosed spaces, such as circuit breaker and instrument transformer compartments with a standard or window point sensor.

Fiber Sensors–Provide protection for large areas, such as bus compartments.

Field Termination–Purchase unterminated cable and simple hand tools provided in the SEL Sensor Termination Tool Kit to build fiber-sensor assemblies onsite.

Details

  • Provide reliable arc-flash detection using the SEL-C804 point or fiber sensor assembly with the arc-flash input card in SEL-751, SEL-751A, SEL-851 and SEL-710-5 Relays.
  • Use point sensors to protect enclosed spaces, such as circuit breaker and instrument transformer compartments.
  • Easily mount window point sensors outside switchgear, motor control centers, and breaker cabinets to detect an arc flash inside the enclosure.
  • Install fiber sensors to protect large areas, such as bus compartments.
  • All cables are built with high-quality 1 mm diameter plastic optical fiber (POF) and can be ordered in one-meter increments.
  • Purchase unterminated cable and use simple hand tools provided in the SEL Sensor Termination Tool Kit, part number 915900146, to build fiber sensor assemblies onsite.
  • Configure arc-flash detection point sensors and fiber loop sensor cable assemblies with multiple splices or a replacement segment of an existing cable assembly.

SEL-C814 Arc-Flash Detection (AFD) Fiber Cables and Accessories

  • Use the SEL-C814 to configure AFD cables to add additional splices to an existing SEL-C804 point sensor or fiber sensor assembly.
  • Configure the SEL-C814 cable with your choice of black-jacketed zipcord or clear-jacketed simplex fiber and your choice of ST or V-pin connectors to replace a damaged or incorrect length on an existing SEL-C804 fiber loop assembly.
  • Order connectors, a termination kit, and bulk black-jacketed zipcord or clear-jacketed simplex arc-flash fiber in lengths up to 500 meters to build arc-flash cable assemblies onsite and to length.
