Combine technical training with your creativity
Every SEL relay is installed in a panel, along with network switches, automation controllers, and other devices, and every panel is unique to a customer’s application. Panel assemblers build products based on customer-specific drawings and wiring diagrams, but the final execution of those designs—including cable routing, wiring, and other details—requires a mix of technical training, attention to detail, and creative problem solving.
Panel assemblers receive IPC 620 training to interpret wiring diagrams and safely assemble panels and enclosures. Panel assembly teams work in clustered flows to complete projects quickly and to customer expectations, allowing you to see your work from start to finish.
Our mission matters
Our work improves the safety and quality of life for people around the world, and that focus on community is reflected in our work environment. SEL assembly, engineering, and business teams communicate regularly and work together to take a product from design to completion.
Panel assemblers receive comprehensive on-the-job training to learn how to read wiring diagrams, route cables, and assemble products. They work with professionals throughout the company to identify creative methods to build products that are shipped to customers worldwide. If you enjoy solving detailed problems with creativity and technical training, then this position is for you!
We invest in you
Aside from offering competitive compensation packages, all SEL employees in the United States qualify for our employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) after one year of employment. This retirement benefit is entirely employer-funded, and it grows with the company.
As a 100 percent employee-owned company, SEL invests in the health, wellbeing, and happiness of all its employees. In addition to comprehensive medical and dental packages for employees and their families, we offer on-campus childcare, health clinics, and wellness facilities; fitness center stipends; and more.
We support your growth
As the need for electricity grows exponentially, so does our growth mindset. We empower our employees with tools—like education, training, and mentorships—to influence the direction of their career. Manufacturing employees are cross-trained in a variety of processes, machines, and teamwork skills. This provides teams with greater flexibility to accomplish their goals, and it helps cultivate greater expertise in all employees.
SEL employees have the opportunity to develop new skills and a full career trajectory, from education funding and internal apprenticeships to on-the-job training in technical and business skills. Panel assemblers may specialize into test technician roles or supervisory positions, and many former panel assemblers have had the opportunity to take positions in quality assurance and other roles in the company.
We value your time
We appreciate the dignity of work as a significant part of our lives, but we value life away from work as well. Stable, structured shift schedules mean panel assemblers at SEL can enjoy the benefits of where they live—like outdoor recreation or local culture and events—or pursue their own education and personal development without worrying about an unpredictable work schedule. Paid time off, separate from ten company holidays each year, is available to every employee and begins to accrue on the first day of employment, ensuring we all have ample time to rest, recharge, and refocus when we need to.
You’ll love the location
