A Boost for CAIDI and MAIFI

The new SEL-FLT and SEL-FLR System is the most cost-effective way to improve your CAIDI and MAIFI reliability metrics. Wireless fault indication and monitoring help you locate permanent faults to restore power faster and identify momentary faults to reduce future outages. The SEL-FLT and SEL-FLR System comes with an intuitive, built-in web interface so you won’t need to buy and manage expensive software. Integration is easy with the DNP3 over IP output that ties directly into your network and existing SCADA system or outage management system (OMS).

High Accuracy for Intelligent Decisions

The accuracy of your load data is paramount when it comes to making informed decisions about your distribution system. The SEL-FLT and SEL-FLR System provides load data that are accurate to 1% and can report the data as frequently as every 5 minutes. That means you can make informed switching decisions, balance phases, and plan for growth with more confidence.

More Installation Freedom

Most line sensors require as much as 10 A of line current to operate, which restricts where you can use them. The SEL-FLT and SEL-FLR System needs just 3.5 A of line current to operate, so you can cover more of your distribution system and get the reliability improvements that come with it.

The Industry's Longest Range

Most distribution networks are large, so a receiver-based fault indication system that only has a 100- to 150-foot range is more costly and labor-intensive. That’s why we built the SEL-FLT and SEL-FLR System with the longest range in the industry—as far as 10 miles. Plus, every SEL-FLR Receiver can support as many as 168 SEL-FLT Transmitters. This not only reduces initial system and installation costs, but it also provides an economical alternative if you’re considering transmitters with integrated cellular communications.

Inherent Security

No other wireless fault indication system offers the same level of security as the SEL-FLT and SEL-FLR System. It features 128-bit wireless encryption, device and message authentication, role-based user authentication, Syslog, and more. And because it communicates over a private wireless network, you won’t have to worry about the vulnerabilities of sending your data through a public network.
