Introducing the upgraded SEL-2414 with load tap changer control.

The SEL-2414 Transformer Automation Controller (TAC) combines the thermal-monitoring capabilities of the original SEL-2414 with newly added functionality for load tap changer (LTC) control.

Customize LTC Control

Dynamically adjust voltage control bands in response to changing load conditions on the power system. Implement automation schemes or adjust control bands remotely to reduce the need for onsite visits. Operators can also use the pushbuttons on the device to manually issue raise and lower commands.

Implement Transformer Paralleling Schemes

Share loads across paralleled transformers and operate tap changers using automated solutions that minimize circulating currents. Choose between master/follower or angle methods. Adapt to changing bus configurations by dynamically controlling up to two groups of parallel transformers.

Add Flexibility to Your System

Deploy the TAC as a dual-use device for thermal and voltage regulation or as a single-use device for either application. After installation, you can easily add additional functionality over time via firmware updates. The TAC also offers modular I/O cards and two display options to support various configurations.

Retrofit Older LTC Controllers

Use adapter plates and our no-cost technical support to easily retrofit Beckwith and other OEM controllers. Alternatively, you can purchase a turnkey solution from SEL Engineering Services that uses a direct-replacement assembly and includes full engineering project support.
