Safety and Quality Certifications
Safety is our highest priority. Every SEL field services technician is Station Entry certified, CPR/AED certified, and maintains up-to-date OSHA credentials. Our technicians also maintain numerous customer-required certifications and have logged thousands of hours in distribution, transmission, and generation environments. Rigorous training and annual refresher courses ensure that our crews are safety-oriented.
Our field services technicians are certified to IPC standards for wire routing and terminating. This means you can expect your new equipment to be installed with the same level of quality and expertise we put into manufacturing our protective relays—the industry’s most trusted protective devices.
Industries Served
We serve all industries that use and deliver bulk electric power—utility providers, petrochemical plants, manufacturing plants, mines, metal refineries, paper mills, and more.
Project Examples
A Texas manufacturer partnered with SEL for an extensive relay upgrade. SEL field services technicians removed 60 switchgear doors and replaced approximately 300 existing relays with SEL-751 Feeder Protection Relays.
An Alaska mining company wanted to upgrade their SCADA system. SEL field services team members, who are Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) certified, performed a SCADA system upgrade onsite and provided wiring support for the operation’s new equipment.
A California utility needed a fully integrated control house built to their specifications and delivered. They sent an empty control house to SEL headquarters in Pullman, Washington, where our field services technicians installed relays and control panels and tested the setup. The SEL team then prepped the building for delivery and traveled to the customer site to perform the installation.
An Oklahoma electric cooperative was tying a new windfarm line into their system and needed to transfer existing terminals to a new substation. In addition to providing complete EPCM services for two new substations, SEL performed the installation, replacement wiring, and commissioning of 18 panels for the co-op.
