In 2023, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) opened a 162,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on Highway 95 in Moscow, Idaho. The building is home to a state-of-the-art plant for fabricating printed circuit boards (PCBs)—vital parts of the products SEL manufactures to protect, monitor, control, and automate electric power systems.
“This will be the most modern, environmentally friendly, and safe printed circuit board manufacturing facility in the United States—maybe the world,” said Dr. Edmund O. Schweitzer, III, SEL president and chief technology officer. “This is great for our employee owners, our customers, our community, and the environment. It also represents opportunity for us all.”
SEL Schwartz Campus is named in honor of Ron Schwartz, the first SEL vice president of quality. Ron was a part of SEL from the very beginning and was instrumental in establishing its philosophy on quality and the implementation of World Class Manufacturing principles. Ron passed away in February 2023.
