Team LTB Reminder and Migration to DMA
acSELerator Team SEL-5045 Software will proceed with a last-time buy (LTB) date of December 9, 2024. For certain meter applications, SEL will continue to offer the SEL-735 Power Quality and Revenue Meter software bundle that includes Team Event and Team Profile licenses. This exception will tentatively end in Q2 2025 when there is full compatibility between Blueframe Data Management and Automation (DMA) Meter Monitoring and SEL-5705 Synchrowave Reports. SEL will provide cybersecurity patches for existing Team systems as necessary for two years post Team LTB (until December 9, 2026). There will be no additional product functionality or feature updates released after the scheduled LTB date.
DMA remains the replacement solution for Team, as it automatically collects, stores, and manages device-specific information, including event oscillography, Sequence of Events data, property information, metering data, and more. DMA also offers cybersecurity features, such as device configuration monitoring, the ability to automatically rotate IED passwords, and being hosted on a secure Linux-based OS.
For meter applications that do not require Synchrowave Reports, SEL recommends leveraging DMA Meter Monitoring and the included DMA API to integrate with other applications, like Power BI. The SEL-735 meter software bundle with Team Event, Team Profile, and Synchrowave Reports continues to be available. This software bundle will transition to DMA Meter Monitoring when the full solution is compatible with Synchrowave Reports.

- Will customers be able to purchase Team licenses after the LTB date?
- New applications should specify SEL Blueframe DMA unless the application uses Synchrowave Reports with SEL meters.
- SEL continues to supply Team Profile and Event for metering applications that utilize Synchrowave Reports.
- R&D will evaluate exceptions for existing Team customers on a case-by-case basis. Please contact blueframe_support@selinc.com if you have a specific need.
- Will there be any software updates made to Team after the EOL?
- No new functionality will be added to Team. Any release made after the LTB date will be to support critical, cybersecurity-related issues. This will remain in effect until December 9, 2026.
- Are there tools to help my customer transition to DMA?
- For software configuration, including device communication parameters and data collection schedules, we recommend that customers utilize Resource Management Profiles for consistent, bulk device creation and management. Defining collection schedules in DMA has been streamlined for bulk operations, and there is no conversion tool to bring Team collection jobs into DMA.
- There is no import tool to bring previously collected Team data into DMA. DMA will bring all available data from configured devices into the new system. Customers should maintain a separate repository for any historical Team data they require for record purposes.
