WBT 102: Event Report Analysis Workshop for Distribution Relays


This course is for protection engineers who want to enhance their knowledge of event reports and learn how to analyze various report formats.

WBT 102 gives students a comprehensive overview of event report analysis methodology, tools, and techniques. The workshop will meet in a virtual training environment for two live, instructor-led sessions. Students will be expected to complete homework projects between the first and second training sessions.

Note: With the exception of the exercises, which focus on distribution relays, this class is very similar to WBT 101.

Day 2

  • Event Report Analysis Case Studies
  • Workshop Summary: 15 Facts to Remember About Event Analysis

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, students can:

  • Learn what data are necessary to properly analyze an event
  • Understand the different event types, their differences, and their applications
  • Apply the proper tools to collected data in order to perform root cause analysis on an event
