19-Inch Chassis
The ICON is available in two form factors. The 19-Inch Chassis has seven access model slots, which accept the various access modules and submodules. It works with panel and rack mounts.
Requires SEL-5051 NMS node fee.
19-Inch Chassis Power Module
The ICON supports two redundant power modules. There are three power module options available for the 19-inch chassis: medium-voltage 24–48 Vdc with a terminal block connector, high-voltage 120–240 Vac/125–250 Vdc with a terminal block connector, or high-voltage 120–240 Vac with an IEC C6 connector for use with a line cord.
19-Inch Chassis Power Module Cover
This blank cover is used to cover the second unused slot if only a single power supply is used in an ICON 19-Inch Chassis.
19-Inch Rack-Mounting Kit for 8-Inch Cube Chassis
The rack-mount bracket enables installation of a single 8-inch ICON Cube Chassis into a 19-inch rack.
19-Inch Rack-Mounting Kit for Dual 8-Inch Cube Chassis
This kit enables installation of two 8-Inch ICON Cube Chassis side by side into a 19-inch rack.
4-Wire Voice Frequency (VF) Bridging Submodule
The 4-Wire VF Bridging Submodule provides a bridge between two remote four wire circuits. These are typically used for communication from a 4-wire modem to dual SCADA masters.
- Two parallel RJ45 connectors
4-Wire Voice Frequency (VF) Submodule
The 4-Wire VF Submodule provides an interface for analog trunk telephone circuits. Use this submodule with standard telephony circuits for voice and data communications. The 4-Wire VF Submodule provides a migration path to a high-bandwidth WAN transport solution while maintaining existing legacy end equipment.
- Supports E&M signaling for types 1, 2, 3, and 5
- Two RJ45 connectors
422 Sync Submodule
The 422 Sync Submodule provides one synchronous EIA-422 drop interface via an RJ45 connector for a full-duplex, synchronous 64 kbps communication signal.
- Synchronous EIA-422 interface
- Single RJ45 connector
- Single DS0 circuit per submodule (1 × 64 kbps, full-duplex)
8-Inch Cube Chassis
The ICON is available in two form factors. The 8-Inch Cube Chassis is designed for installations where space may be limited. The 8-inch chassis works with DIN-rail mounts, rack mounts, and panel mounts. It has two access module slots, which accept the various access modules and submodules.
Requires SEL-5051 NMS node fee.
8-Inch Cube Chassis Power Module
The ICON supports two redundant power modules. There are three power module options available for the 8-Inch Cube Chassis:
- Medium-voltage 24–48 Vdc with a terminal block connector
- High-voltage 120–240 Vac/125–250 Vdc with terminal block connector
- High-voltage 120–240 Vac with an IEC C6 connector for use with a line cord
8-Inch Cube Chassis Power Module Cover
This blank cover is used to cover the second unused slot if only a single power supply is used in an ICON 8-Inch Cube Chassis.
Access Module Cover
The Access Module Cover is used to cover unused access module slots.
Async Data—Channel Bank Submodule
The Async Data—Channel Bank Submodule provides a flexible asynchronous data interface that supports transport of EIA-232, EIA-422 and EIA-485 circuits over the DS1 Sync interface between ICONs.
- Supports EIA-232, EIA-422, and EIA-485 standards
- Two RJ45 connectors
- Data rate: 110 bps to 115.2 kbps
Async Submodule
The Async Submodule provides a flexible asynchronous data interface that supports the direct connectivity of the ICON to intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). Using the Async Submodule, serial data circuits can be provisioned through the ICON’s wide-area network optical transport to provide a direct communications path between IEDs.
- Supports EIA-232, EIA-422, and EIA-485 standards with control line support
- Two RJ45 connectors
- Data rate: 110 bps to 115.2 kbps
Balun for SEL-8057 E1 Submodules
The 915900632 kit contains a balun that provides passive impedance conversion from unbalanced coaxial cable connections (75ohm) from an external device to a single balanced RJ48C connection (120ohm) into the SEL-8057 E1 Submodules.
DIN Mounting Kit for 8-Inch Cube Chassis
The kit enables installation of the 8-Inch Cube Chassis onto a dual DIN rail.
DS1 Async Submodule
The DS1 Async Submodule provides four DS1 interfaces that can be individually mapped to other DS1 ports on DS1 Async Submodules located at other ICON sites.
- B8ZS or AMI
- Four independent DS1 circuits
- Four RJ48C connectors
DS1 Psync Submodule
The DS1 Psync Submodules are used in pairs and provide a redundant synchronous DS1 interface. The DS1 Psync Submodule, in conjunction with the Protected Line Module or Enhanced Protected Line Module, supports the ability to groom network traffic at the DS0 level from multiple locations into a single virtual tributary (VT1.5) port on the entire ICON network.
- B8ZS or AMI
- Four independent DS1 circuits with 1-by-1 protection
- Four RJ48C connectors
DS1 Sync Submodule
The DS1 Sync Submodule, in conjunction with the Protected Line Module or Enhanced Protected Line Module, supports the ability to groom network traffic at the DS0 level from multiple locations into a single virtual tributary (VT1.5) port on the entire ICON network. In channel bank applications, the DS1 Sync Submodule can synchronize the ICON from an incoming DS1 signal.
