Rini Paiva, executive vice president of the National Inventors Hall of Fame, joins Dave to discuss the common traits inventors share, the importance of honoring their work, and how they're inspiring future innovators.

Executive Vice President, Selection & Recognition

Rini Paiva is executive vice president of selection and recognition at the National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF). In this role, she oversees all recognition programs, including the annual inductee selection process for the NIHF, working with a wide-ranging group of experts in science, technology, engineering, intellectual property, and history to ultimately recognize the world’s foremost patented inventors for their life-changing and innovative work. Paiva also oversees the Collegiate Inventors Competition (CIC), striving to bring recognition to the country’s outstanding college students who create the technologies shape the future. In addition, she has oversight of the NIHF Museum located in Alexandria, VA, where the stories of great inventors are showcased. Another important element of her role is fostering the relationships between the inductees and NIHF, encouraging the integration of the inventors in the many facets of NIHF. The NIHF is dedicated to recognizing and fostering invention, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Paiva also encourages NIHF inductees and CIC students to be involved in NIHF’s education programs so that they may serve as inspiration, encouragement, and examples to younger generations.
