It might seem like a stretch to talk about the healthcare system on a podcast about electric power. However, more than three million Americans report to energy sector jobs every day, and we all depend on these folks for the steady flow of electricity in our homes, businesses, hospitals, and data centers. In this episode, Dave Whitehead talks with SEL Senior Director of Health & Wellbeing Michele Beehler about what can be done to help ensure these employees (and others) have access to affordable, high-quality healthcare.

Senior Director of Health & Wellbeing 

Michele oversees Global Benefits and the SEL Family Centers consisting of on-site gyms, health clinics, and childcare center. She also serves as a member on SEL’s ESOP Committee and 401(k) Trustee Board.

Prior to join Michele served as an HR Manager in the healthcare industry and for a manufacturing and transportation company.  She graduated from Purdue University with her B.A. in Law and Society.  Ms. Beehler is a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resource Management member.

Michele actively volunteers on several community boards. She sat on the Child Care Collaborative Task Force in Washington State, participates as a member of the Employer Advisory Council for Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Washington, and is a member of the Tri State Health Memorial Hospital Board.  She has spoken on a number of panels for the Association of Washington Business (AWB), US Chamber of Commerce and the Self Insurance Institute of America (SIIA).
