SEL enhances the performance and digital input capacity of the SEL-2240 Axion

PULLMAN, Washington—Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), a global leader in power system protection, automation and control solutions, announces two new modules for the SEL-2240 Axion.

The first addition is the SEL-2241-2 Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC) Module, which delivers over five times the processing power of the prior-generation RTAC module. This matches the performance of the popular SEL-3350 computing platform, but in a smaller, modular form factor. As an all-in-one intelligent electronic device, the higher processing power makes common functions like bay control, power system monitoring and digital fault recording more responsive as single- or multiple-use applications.

The second addition is the SEL-2244-4 Digital Input Module, which brings 33 percent more digital input capacity than the previous-generation digital input module. This increased capacity allows customers to streamline their system monitoring infrastructure and easily replace multiple high-I/O legacy remote terminal units or bay controllers with minimal wiring changes.
