White Paper—How to Improve Capacitor Bank Control Using Wireless Sensing Technology

A new SEL white paper provides insights into capacitor bank management and control. It describes the function of capacitor banks in the distribution system and identifies common methods for controlling capacitor banks, including their benefits and challenges. It also introduces a new method for controlling capacitor banks by using wireless current sensors in place of traditional line post sensors. This new method is simpler, safer and more affordable than previous methods.

For more details, read the white paper, Wireless Current Sensing for Improved Distribution Capacitor Bank Control, by Engineering Manager Ben Rowland, Senior Application Engineer Jeremy Blair and Development Lead Engineer Kei Hao.
