Dr. Héctor J. Altuve, an SEL Distinguished Engineer and the Dean of SEL University, has been published in the newest edition of the McGraw-Hill Standard Handbook for Electrical Engineers. This industry-standard reference provides “up-to-date coverage of every facet of electric power in a single volume” and includes input from over 100 internationally recognized power system experts.

Dr. Altuve authored the chapter Power System Protection, which covers protection fundamentals; time-synchronized measurements; line, transformer, bus, generator, and motor protection; and wide-area protection and control.

“SEL takes pride in sharing knowledge and expertise to help further our mission of making electric power safer, more reliable, and more economical,” said April Foss, senior manager for SEL University. “Dr. Altuve’s work perfectly embodies this value, and we are extremely proud of his accomplishment.”
