SEL and Dragos Team Up on Utility Cyber Defense
SEL and Dragos, trusted names in digital power system products and cybersecurity, have jointly developed a solution that provides continuous monitoring, threat intelligence and active cyber defense for industrial control systems.
Detecting and protecting against cyber attacks, especially advanced persistent threats in operational technology (OT) networks, can be difficult for network managers. The joint SEL-Dragos solution combines components from each company’s respective areas of expertise.
Dragos provides the Dragos Platform with Dragos Midpoint Sensors, which run on SEL-3355 Computers. The Dragos software integrates with the SEL-5056 Software-Defined Network Flow Controller and SEL-2740S Software-Defined Network Switches to analyze packets sent in unauthorized network flows. The Dragos Platform also monitors events from SEL communications, automation and protection products that support syslog, including SEL ICON devices and SEL Real-Time Automation Controllers (RTACs).
The combined solution provides OT network managers with unprecedented knowledge and understanding of their assets and activity. With this solution, OT network managers can better identify, protect, detect, respond to and recover from cyber events within their systems.
