Ride-Through Calculators
Ride-Through Calculator
The SEL-RPM stores energy for riding through interruptions of all input sources. The ride-through time depends on the input voltage, the load, and the device dropout voltage. Use the following calculator to estimate the ride-through time.
Data Input
Description | Value |
---|---|
Initial voltage at the SEL-RPM output at time of power loss of all sources (V INITIAL [volts]) | V |
Dropout voltage of the connected device (V DROPOUT [volts]) | V |
Constant power load connected to the SEL-RPM during the ride through (P load [watts]) | W |
Results
Description | Value |
---|---|
Ride-through time (T [seconds]) |
Trip Energy Ride-Through Calculator
With its stored energy capacity, the SEL-RPM can power relays and provide energy for trip coils. Use the following calculator to help determine the maximum ride-through time that will ensure enough energy is available to energize connected trip coils.
Data Input
Description | Value |
---|---|
Initial voltage at the SEL-RPM output at time of power loss of all sources (V INITIAL [volts]) | V |
Minimum working voltage of the trip coil (V f [volts]) | V |
Resistance of the trip coil (R coil [ohms]) | Ω |
Constant power load connected to the SEL-RPM during the ride through (P load [watts]) | W |
Operate time for the breaker (T [seconds]) | s |
Results
Description | Value |
---|---|
Maximum time after power loss of all sources at which trip coil should be energized (t1 [seconds]) | |
Minimum voltage at the SEL-RPM output at which trip coil should be energized (V t [volts]) |
