SEL University can arrange training programs conducted at your site. When you have a number of people who need the same training, you can dramatically reduce travel expenses by considering an on-site course. Many on-site courses involve running a standard fundamentals or product application class. You supply the training room, and SEL University brings the equipment, course materials, and instructor. SEL University can also tailor fundamentals and applications courses to meet your specific needs. To request more information about on-site training opportunities, contact SEL University.

Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of motor protection application philosophies, including the patented Thermal Protection Model, which is integrated into the SEL-749M and SEL-701 Motor Relays.
his workshop gives students a comprehensive overview of event report analysis methodology, tools, and techniques. Students will complete CBT 103: Analyzing Event Reports for Engineers, on their own, prior to the course. The class will then meet in a virtual training environment for two live, instructor-led sessions. Students will be expected to complete homework projects between the first and second training sessions.
This course is designed to provide an opportunity for students to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of synchrophasor measurement and application.
Students will learn to use the SEL-2032 Communications Processor to design, create, and implement a state-of-the-art substation integration and automation system. Detailed hands-on examples will show the ease with which you can apply the communications processor to both SEL relays and non-SEL IEDs. Students will explore use of the communications processor with DNP3 Level 2, Modbus®, and the SEL-2701 Ethernet Processor. Multitier applications of the communications processor are also addressed.
This course covers skills required to enter settings, test, commission, and troubleshoot SEL relays. The student will review skills required to work with SEL relays, learn about specific distribution relay testing considerations, practice the acquired skills by working with different relays throughout the course, gain familiarity with the operating principles of each type of relay, and explore the features of SEL relay technology to make appropriate choices when designing test routines.
Topics:
Distribution Protection and Fault Indication Equipment Monitoring/Asset Management
This course provides a beginner-level introduction to testing SEL relays. Students will dedicate significant time to learning basic relay testing skills, acquiring skills required to work with SEL relays (such as using Relay Word bits and relay event reports), and practicing acquired skills by working with different relays.
Annual exposition for the instrumentation, systems, and automation (ISA) society is focused on automation and control solutions for a broad variety of industry types.
